Craftsmanship

Our house frames start with a carefully drawn shop plan, submitted to our customers or their architect for approval. We can provide engineering specs for all timber work when necessary. Joints are carefully cut to insure proper bearing and minimal timber movement after frames are assembled. The same craftsmen who cut the timbers in our shop will erect the frame to insure a proper fit and finish.

We provide plans for each project showing elevations and cross sections with registered engineer’s stamp to simplify the permit process. A material list is included with each set of plans.

Our timber frames are carefully built with all floor joists fully mortised into their supporting timbers. Connecting girts are housed and thru tenoned at posts. Mortised in oak braces provide strength and stability. Joints are pinned with white oak pegs.
